Toy Box Studios’ Favorite Venues for 2018 || Washington D.C. area || Photography and Videography

You’re getting married!

Congratulations! Now the fun begins (of course, we suppose “fun” is subjective)…. You’re going to stand up in front of all your friends and family, promise your love to each other, and of course – party! Finding a venue can be exhausting, so we’ve condensed down a few of our favorites for you below:

Mark Bautista, Co-Founder and Lead Videographer:
“If I had to pick a wedding venue, I would have to say The Salamander in Middleburg, Virginia is my favorite. The rolling hills and open venue not only make for pretty pictures but provide awesome views for guests to enjoy. The resort has plenty of indoor as well as outdoor spaces to celebrate weddings. Food is yummy (even for the vendors). The little town located just outside the resort is quaint and has plenty of off-campus restaurants and shops if you want to get away. About an hour outside of D.C., it is well worth the drive!”

Rob Shultz, Editor/Videographer/Photographer:
“If I had to pick one wedding venue to be my favorite, it would be Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Va. I had the opportunity to shoot video there back in December 2017 and it was absolutely beautiful! The outside property with the pond and grape vines are perfect back drops for photography and video. The entire property is full of wild life, trees and mountains. The downstairs ballroom is like something out of a movie. Everything is super elegant and they have a room full of wine barrels that make the building smell like oak. I really want to come back to this venue to try the wine and watch some of their live music. This place is perfect for getting away and relaxing.”

Ian Rushing, Co-Founder and Lead Videographer:
“My favorite venue is Riverside on the Potomac. The first thing I said when I walked into the barn at Riverside was “If I ever own a venue, I want it to be like this.”
From the stone paver patio overlooking the water, to the rustic barn, everything here is beautifully done, without being over the top. I especially loved the lower level in the barn, where the old stables are now each their own small open room with antique furniture.
I’ve also always been a sucker for a good sunset…”
